Thank You!

With very grateful hearts we want to thank everyone at Sarasota Alliance Church for giving $1,774.00 for rain barrels for Haiti. This means that 25 or more families will have clean water when it rains, and that maybe some children will be able to attend school instead of walking several miles several times a day to get water for their family. We are looking forward to taking a team to Haiti to install these rain barrels. Thank you again everyone at Sarasota Alliance for giving, instead of gifting at least one of your presents this year.

Here are a few pictures of the rain barrels that we installed back in June/July when we were there.

Trusting God

If I trust God that all things work together for good then I have to believe it - Even when it doesn't feel good to me.
I also feel that God is testing me, the question is weather I will stay focused on the Lord or start worrying about things I can't control.
Stay focused and let the Lord handle the future. God is in control of my future.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Apology

Wanted to apologizes to anyone that has come to our blog and we haven't added anything in a while. We are going to try to do a whole lot better from now on. Again we are truly sorry.

Carrie's thoughts on Haiti

So as I mentioned in the post about Ashley, we all spoke at her birthday party about HCH. We ask our girls to share about their experience in Haiti and they all did an awesome job. Carrie's sharing was very real about what she thought and how she felt. So we wanted to share it with you. I was going to type it all out for you to read but instead we made a video of her reading it so you would get the whole affect.

Ashley

For our very 1st blog post I would like to tell you about Ashley. She is a 15 year old teenager that our family thinks is Great. Let me start at the beginning. Jon works with her dad Ric sometimes and one day last year Ric was telling Jon that Ashley for her 14th Birthday felt like God wanted her to do something for orphans and Ric remembered Jon telling him about Haitian Children's Home. Ric told Ashley about HCH and she decided that she wanted to give all her gifts to the children at HCH. So her parents planned this big party band and all and on the invitations put the list of needs of the home and people gave gifts from the list. Ashley gave all of it to the home, keeping nothing for herself. This is why we think Ashley is so Great because not only did she do it for her 14th Birthday but she did it again for her 15th. Again her parents planned a party fit for teenagers and asked our family to speak and share about Joy in Hope / HCH. And again Ashley gave everything she got. She even received money in cards that she opened and gave to the home. Ashley is a typical teenager with something extra special about her, she has such a giving heart and a love for children she has never met. She is very inspiring to me to be her age and be so willing to give and want nothing in return.
